ode to swansea

A student midwife at Swansea University
Is what I'd really like to be
So Swansea's School of Health Studies
Make me an offer, please, please, please
I know I'm really lucky, I really really do
To have been offered a place to go to
It's not that with Cardiff there's anything wrong
It's just that the journey would be very long
I'm scared that travelling costs would make us so poor
That I'd have to quit, walk out of that door
Then I'd see my dream, my burning desire
To become a midwife, on the funeral pyre
And what of the person in some other place
Who could have easily taken that space?
To start and then stop would be such a waste
All because of my selfish haste
To realise my dream at whatever cost
And leave my family totally lost
So please Swansea Uni, give me a break
Offer me a place and my life you would make!
