Another sad day... :-(
Posted 15-Aug-2008 at 18:27 by riabirt
Had a text message from my sister today to say that they had to have their beautiful German Shepherd, Tika put to sleep today.
Tika was 13, so a good age, and was riddled with cancer, so putting her to sleep was the kindest thing. It still makes you feel very sad though.
She was the mummy dog of my parent's dog, Rags, which makes me realise how old Raggy is, and maybe mum and dad will be in that position soon as he's not in the best of health.
My sister also has two Kids, aged 11 and 6 who will be devastated by Tika's passing. It's such a shame. Sometimes I wonder whether having pets is more painful than not having them...
Very, very sad and makes me wonder if this year is going to get any better...
The last good thing to happen for our family was the birth of my nephew, Jim on the 1st September last year. It went rapidly downhill from there...
Sorry, I realise this post is rather depressing, just felt the need to vent a little.

Hun I understand, we had a cat that we had to part with after just a couple of months as she had FIV and 3 years later I still think of her and miss her, it's like losing any family member, it's very sad. I am thinking of you and your family xxPosted 16-Aug-2008 at 00:15 by RainbowGoddess

Sorry to hear that Ria, my dog was put to sleep several years ago aged 17, it was a hard and horrible decision to make.
We have since got another dog, but I know my parents took a lot of convincing, they weren't sure they could go through the heartbreak of losing another dog.
I hope your sister's family feel ok :-(Posted 17-Aug-2008 at 11:05 by Flowerpot
