[html]Well this is my first blog entry and i'm not really sure where to start ,but here goes.
First i think i'l introduce myself a little
Well I'm Sarah I'm 23 years old and have a three year old daughter called Abigail. I have been thinking about applying to midwifery for a few years now, but only plucked up the courage to apply this year after starting an access course in september 2007.
I applied to five universitys in total and was extremly pleased when slowly i started to recieve invertations to interviews for each one.
I was shocked, scared and excited!!I had been told by my tutors at college to not even bother applying for midwifery and I was better off going through the nursing route as I would definatly not get a place....let alone an interview!!
But I had proved them all wrong!!Not only had I decided to apply to midwifery against their requests...but I had ACTUALLY got an Interview!!
As the dates of the interviews became fast approaching I became more and more nervous...I was frantically trying to rehearse and think what kind of questions i would be asked !!I had no idea!I was also skimming all the newspapers looking for relevant stories, and of course religiously reading my magazines ( TPM and MIDIRS) as usual.
I was in a blind panic when I had my first Interview at Staffordshire University .I had no idea what to expect and was truly terrified as I wanted this so much, and was so worried that I would say something wrong or act stupidly .
But after the first interview I became more relaxed.I knew what to expect- well in a way and felt more confident and I think this came across well.
I have now finished all of my interviews and i'm just waiting to hear back from Northampton University and Staffordsire University.
I have recieved conditional offers from Coventry , DeMontfort and Birmingham City University and i'm over the moon!!
Its like a dream come true to me and Im so excited and nervous in anticipation of the course starting in september .
I havent decided which university I will go to as yet . I'm going to wait untill i hear back from all of my interviews before I make my final choice.
Good luck to everyone else that is waiting to hear back form their interviews. With a little determination and hope you will get where you want to be!!
