As many of you will know MidwiferyWorld is now up and running.

We're slowly building up the membership, (89 at the time of posting). The chat between members is also picking up.

I just wanted to say "Thank you" to everyone on SMNet, for making me feel so welcome...

Ahhhh! I know I should be excited. But..... this will be the first time I've been abroad for a family holiday. So much to pack! .....Ahhhh!

Last night's shift was a busy one! On delivery suite, with my student.

We started off with just the one woman to care for - a multip, being induced for post maturity. Her care was straight forward.

Then another woman arrived in the unit, who appeared to be in advanced labour....

I recently attended a re-union for one of my NCT classes. It was so lovely to see all the parents again and meet their babies. We enjoyed each others company, sharing a meal together and listening to each of the couples talk about their birth experience and life as a new parent.

It is a while now since I qualified and I have not rushed into taking on the role of being a mentor. I wanted to be sure of myself and gain confidence in my own practice first.
