Im sorry to do another sad blog.
Today I got a call from my mum saying my grandad (pops) has had another heart attack. It was his 5th in 3 weeks. Luckily he was in hospital at the time.
The consultant has told pops that his next heart attack will be his last. After a long discussion my dad his brother and sister, pops has decided not to be resusatated. I know its the right thing as he has been ill for so long but it still upsets me.
Pops has been sad since nanna died 2 years ago. They had been together for over 60 years. Nanna was my star. She was the one who taught me to bake, taught me to knit and painted my nails everytime I went round. Even on her death bed she insisted that her nails were perfect.
Without pops there will be a massive gap in our whole families life. Its one whole generation gone. There scarey thing is the next generation is my parents. I know many people have lost parents and children brothers or sisters and their pain must be huge, but i still feel so bad today.
Im sorry to go on but I know how fab you lot here are xxx

| | Sorry to hear this about your Grandad. Sending you lots of love. What you said about your Nanna struck a chord - my Grandma suffered with Alzheimer's for 15 years before she died last year at the age of 92 - and whilst she deteriorated quite rapidly towards the end she still always liked to inspect my nails. I have only my Grandad left from their generation, too. I am closer to him than I am with my own father! Thinking of you, Sooz. |
