So tired...

Posted 08-May-2008 at 21:16 by upsy daisy
Well, I'm 2 weeks into doing my evenings shifts of my new job. I absolutely love my job and know 100% that I made the right move - I don't regret leaving my old job although I do miss the guys I worked with

The only downside is that as I work until midnight 4 evenings a week I get so tired (in fact I should be in bed now not posting on here!!) - my hubby is so supportive of my decision to become a midwife but he still doesn't seem to appreciate that I am tired because I spend all day running around after my 2 boys, gardening, keeping on top of the housework etc etc (DH is pretty useless it has to be said) and then working 6pm-midnight is hard work

BUT, I know I still stick at it because I know it will be worth it in the long run.

xx

Lovely to read your post upsy daisy and to hear how positive you feel about your chosen career path.
I am sure the tiredness will improve, as you get used to the work. At the present time you're having to take in lots of information, get to know a different way of working etc. I expect you're also trying to take in as much as you can about the role of the midwife, which you are seeing at first-hand now. - It's bound to be tiring.
Keep going - you know it will be worth it!
