We're back!! Was a little dissapointed to see there were no fellas there at all (what-so-ever), had a pretty good day and met some great students. It was a little sad to see the reality of the situation facing newly qualifieds and how to secure jobs many have to go through a relocation process. I knew the situation was fairly dire from Josie already but to see today how widespread the situation is was a little alarming.

It make me feel even more glad (and proud) that we have embarked upon building a strong Student Midwife Support Network - lack of jobs is just a drop in the ocean of the day to day fears facing students and midwives alike and I have an even stronger respect for midwives after today's conference.

It was kind of weird for me being the only fella there as well as a non student midwife, but as representative of this site alongside Josie I did get a lot of benefit from today and an even bigger insight into your world.

I was great to meet Smwife, Olly Bolly, Kentish Spitfire and some other people whom will be joining us also - We never got chance for that group photo eh? And those T-shirts looked ace too!!! Oh well, there's always the ICM conference in Glasgow I guess

I think I'm gona hit the sack..... it's been a long day and had way to many bags to carry home.

G'night all!

I agree with everything the big fella said (have been seeing to kids, mum spoilt them rotten, came home to big smiley chocolate faces). All shattered. Great day. Ace members in the flesh. Ace tshirts. Ace networking got silly amounts of freebies and freebies on thier way for our competitions, so if you didnt get to go and missed out on the ace freebies, no matter you can win a bag of goodies on here

Will write a proper conference report tomorrow when my brain isnt mush!

Bath and bed for me.

xx
