well, I've just finished my 3rd placement of the first year, and I was on a brilliant community placement. I have loved it so much more than being in hospital, and have jsut appreciatted being 'with woman'.
Had 2 homebirths and 2 physiological 3rd stages which really made my placement it has to be said.
Back to uni tomorrow and an a and p test. Oh dear, not really ready for it at all, exam not till jan though so still got lots of time to jen up! And then the day after dreaded test will be abck out on community again and really looking forward to it.
So just time now to dust off the books and pack uni bag and reset mind and focus on academia once more!
x

Thanks Pauline for your great post on your first day in the community; tomorrow is my first day of my first every placement, and it's in the community; hope it goes as well as yours as it sounds fab. I suppose it all depends for a great deal on your mentor; fingers crossed here!

Hi Marion,

Hope your first day has gone really well, and that you have had a great time.

I loved my community placement, and am sad it has finished for now, we don't seem to go back now until the second year.

I am due in ante natal clinic tomorrow, should have been today but I have been ill so couldn't make it, that will certainly be different lol.

Pauline
