Its hard at first, like using a pinnards, you just get used to it, and it "clicks" we use 5th korotkoff sound, unless of course you can hear it all the way down to zero -which often happens, then we use the 4th sound! Do as the other said 20mmhg above pulse rate tends to work, stops you blowing the cuff up too much on their arm too, and release nice and slowly, make sure you round to the 2 (not 5 as many do!) good luck, don't panic, just get your mentor to check it for you and you'll start to get better and more confident day-by-day I get mw's to check mine still at times when I'm really unsure, its better to be safe isn't it?
