OOH what are long nights?

Nights are long enough from 8 to 8!

Try to get a nap in on the day of your night (if that makes sense?) at least an hour preferably two. Take fruit, salad and a bit of carbs too, sort of snacky things really. And water to drink, you'll get very thirsty.

Take a break if they ask you to, you may get a sleep break, maybe not.

take things to do if it is quiet, essay work, or your paperwork for skills etc.

When you're finished get home and straight to bed limit yourself to getting up at lunchtime if you are not working the following night, or later if you are (I sleep till 1 if not working the next night, then you can sleep that night) if you are sleep till 4, set your alarm tho as you won't wake up (ask Ollybolly!!!)

I don't take lots of carb foods, as they bloat me up and wreck my digestion (TMI!!) and don't drink coffee either as it keeps me so up I can't sleep when I get home.

You may be very different ,we all have our different ways. Some don't eat and I didn't to start , but it really helps when you are tired and sleepy at 4am.

I hope they go well, let us know how you get on, nights have always been my best shifts on labour ward for catches!

Yeah I was wondering that too. Perhaps you will have to get your hubby to change his shift pattern to accomodate your night shifts.

My childminder picks up the kids for me (from OH at my house) and takes ds to school, I collect dd and have her until nursery time after lunch. In september DS starts school so he will pick them both up and take thme to school and I will collect them. I gave up with breakfast club, it just didn't fit in with us
