You need your own stethescope, torch etc whilst on placement or would i be wasting my money?

I have my own stehescope, but it was given to me by my community mentor, I didn't buy it.

I have now got a torch, but didn't have one to start with, I am sure it will be useful when I am on nights.

It's down to personal choice really, you don't HAVE to have them.

I have my lovely barbie pink steth! I don't like the ones they supply as i have sensitive ears . Also have a pen torch ready for night shifts as was advised that they are very handy!

You pick up both of these things very reasonably.

I would get a steth as goodness know's where the ear bits have been on the ones that loiter around! As for a torch - I've not needed one yet - but then I've yet to work on the wards so I guess from what the others have said - i'll want one then!

I got my steth today. There are some reasonably cheap ones on ebay and of course dont forget the clinical packs on here. I only got a steth so I can practice at home, it really is personal choice.

I have got the clincal pack off here, a pink steth off ebay and I brought a syphg (a tenner offf ebay) so I can practice my blood pressure at home as I have been told it can be quite hard to get to grips with what you are listening to for the blood pressure reading xx But I do think its personal choice

I have a steth, hoping to get a sphyg for the same reasons as claire! Lol. It really is personal choice though. The clinical packs on here are great, all the little bits and bobs you may need, and reasonably priced too!!

xx
