Default so much for normal!

Well I am two weeks just over into my first clinical placement, its been great so far have two lovely but completely different mentors...now I think most of the other girls from my cohort have got at least their first witness already but no not me!! every ward shift I have done the woman has ended up in theatre!! I must be jinxed and obviously although its fantastic and I am loving theatre and feeling very confident with it..lol its supposed to be normal year 1!

Oh i know its so frustrating, i was like that in my first year and then suddenly something changed and i found that every day i was getting 'normal' births and some times more than one a day.
Then One day i got three in a row. It will get better, hang on in there.

I know the feeling, however it DOES even out after 3 years, it seems to go in peaks and troughs, one week there will be no babies born, or are all in theatre, the next students are catching 3 normal births a shift lol ... it will work itself out

Does anyone else find this?? I felt jinxed at times too, is it really normal? Especially in the 1st year, when its supposed to be (theoretically that is) x

I have only been with one labouring woman so far as it is my first delivery suite placement too. She ended up going to theatre too, but I am not feeling jinxed just yet, I will reserve judgement on this for a little while yet lol.
