That aid is great...

Do any of you still weigh swabs, bedding etc to estimate blood loss?

We have these as posters on labour ward (in store rooms etc.. not for the women to see, think it would scare them to death!), its really helped me to estimate blood loss.

Hi

I read this post a while ago. It really helped me out last week when a woman PPH'd on the postnatal ward. Being reminded of how much a saturated pad actually was and the capacity of an 'inco' was invaluable when it came to assessing the EBL.

Ta very much!

I wish I had found this before now. We had to guess blood loss today and I didn't do so well All my women would be having serious PPH's if my guesses today were anything to go by!!!

I have printed it off though now. Thank you
