Women and Birth: Politics, Power and Practice The 2nd Annual University of Worcester Birth Conference Aim
This two day conference will explore midwifery practice and women’s childbirth choices in relation to power relationships and the politics of birth.
Format
Professor Mary Nolan will chair the conference to present keynote speakers and workshops. Both days will explore the political and research evidence which relates to women’s ability to make realistic choices about their care; autonomous midwifery practice and the development of effective maternity services. Participants will also be able to choose from a number of concurrent workshops that fit within the identified conference themes. These workshops aim to showcase the work being undertaken by midwives, students and antenatal educators throughout the UK.
