All we have done really is fill out forms and have inductions. The best bit starts next week when we actally start doing some learning. I was just woundering if anyone can give me some advice on who and where to contact about getting some work experience. I would prefer something to do with midwifery or pregnancy but anything will do really as long as it benefits me on my course and looks good on my personal statement for uni. I can't decide if I should do it full time or part time as I have had offers for both...

There are so many pros and cons to both and I know it's a last minute 'have i done the right thing'

I guess the only thing I'm a bit miffed about is the part time course do not do the GCSE in maths, whereas the full time run GCSE maths alongside the course? The full time college told me that you will not get into CCCU unless you have a GCSE in Maths??? The part time tutor told me that they do GCSE equivalent :-$

I'm happy to do the part time as I get to spend quality time with my two children and I can get a part time job as well as doing some voluntary work but I can't help but have this niggly feeling I've made the wrong choice? It was a hard evening as I was one of the only people 'on my own' but the course is looking fab! Already been set assignments to do and I'm looking forward to getting stuck in and swotting away like Monica :D

There is no chance the Uni's will look at me without Higher :( So do I pay £370 and do it through OU on top of everything else? Am I likely to manage it? I have untill the 9th to enroll. It's soooo frustrating! I know I could give it a good go.

If there is anyone doing AQA A level biology then I have some books which I dont need anymore. I have the AS and A2 nelson thornes offcial AQA text books for the course - they are very good. And I have an AS revison guide and an A2 question workbook and answer book (great for exam practice)

There is a bit of writing in the books at some places - although not much, there are in good nick apart from the scribble. But they are free!!

then i got the phone call!
burnley have offered me a place on their nursing and midwifery access course had to go in that day to enrol! Decided manchester for me is quite a treck away so went along to burnley and signed up there luckily i had the £80 registration fee in my bank which the job centre are givingme back :)
i so can not wait to start now, im closer to home and closer to my babies if they need me instead of being miles n miles away. Starting a week later tho when i had just got myself ready for monday ah well
