    I'm not really surprised if you consider the mixed culture of the big towns and cities. I've seen it as a student.

    I wasn't shocked in terms of cities, wasn't thinking though that several midwives will see same woman. Still find it quite surprising though

    I've seen it as a student, I saw it in my very first week on community, but I lived in a very ethnically diverse area.
    Most of the woman with FGM go to the other hospital as it's closer to where most of them live, so the majority of students in the hospital I'm in at the moment won't have seen it unless they saw it on community.
    However, there are a lot of women with it, and I would be extremely surprised if they got throught their training without seeing it even once.
