You'll have to be a genius to help me with this but here goes.. Right.

    1) I'm a single parent to a two year old (who will be three when I start uni). Will I still get child benefit/tax credits?
    2) I currently live in N.England and am planning on moving to Edinburgh with my child and boyfriend (who will attend uni too). Do I get help with accomodation/living costs?
    3) My child will go to nursery for a year and then begin school. How do I pay for nursery? (Currently whilst at college, a scheme called 'Care To Learn' pay nursery fees).
    4) What is a bursery? Why/Who gets them? And how much are they?
    5) Anyone from Edinburgh area, roughly how much is a average monthly rent for a 2 bedroom house?

I'll probably think of more questions to add to this in a couple of hours so if so, I'll comment them.

    ALL help appreciated!
    Thanks

You'll need to contact SAAS and NHS nurseries and find out if you'll get the Scottish or English bursary. Both are very different x

Hi! These are the new guidelines on Tax Credit changes happening this year: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/taxcreditsbudget/index.htm#1 - but saying this, if you both attend Uni and neither work then I would say you wouldn't get tax credits.

My husband had a google for help with child care costs and found quite a bit of information with regards to financial help. Plus you do get the free 15 hours childcare once they turn 3.

Sorry that's about all I can help with regards to your questions, but I hope it helps a little :)

A good way to get a rough idea of rent is to go on sites like Rightmove and look. Usually they only show houses available in the next few weeks but it gives an idea of prices.
