Hii and welcome :) I'm an 18 month applicant too and I'm sorry to hear that you have been unlucky! Have you managed to get any feedback from the universities and have you applied elsewhere? x

    ooh okay..

I mainly used this site to fish for ideas in terms of interview practice and questions. There is also a booklet on the SMNet shop with like 164 questions for you to practice with, maybe that might help?

Not necessarily, it isn't easy to get experience but if you do, then it is useful. You could attend a taster day if you can. Some reading around and stuff like that is what I did.

I didn't get any work experience apart from doing my management in gynaecology which did help but I only experienced a small fraction of care that may be given by a midwife.

Hi nat38. I have just put my applicaton in for the 18month course for this year. Just finished my nursing degree so first time applying for midwifery. Good on you for sticking with it and I'm sure your dedication will pay off and you get your place on the course. I went the long way around and did nursing first like my access tutor advised me to do. I'll keep everything crossed for you. Good luck!!!:)xxx

Hi Nat38 and everyone. I have my interview for the 18 month course at Northampton tomorrow. I'm currently an Occupational Health nurse. The trouble with the coversion courses is that generally they are very limited geographically. For example, Nothampton Uni is the only one offering it near enough to me without doing some major relocation. I'm far more tied to home now so if I'm not successful this year I'll try again. Though having said that I got one of those slightly weird leaflets asking me if I wanted to be a HV? Always an option I suppose! Good luck with Glamorgan, when is your interview?
