BCU applications 2012

Just popping on to say hi to the other BCU hopefuls on here my application should be sent from my college this week and then I will officially be joining you as a BCU applicant, Cov is my top choice but BCU is close second, I loved it at the open day Cov is just soooo much closer and one of the trusts is in my town so would make life much easier.

From Bham new street you just hop on the 29 bus it drops you off right outside the uni

just a point of reference for you ladies, staffs will send you a letter............regardless of whether its for an interview offer or a direct 'u'. This is what happened to me and others from my college last year.

Oh I hadn't seen this thread!

I have had my acknowledgement from BCU but I am not expecting anything else for quite a while as they made it clear at the open day they do not interview until around feb time.

Do you think they will send out U's as they come across them though? then it would be no news is good news kind of thing?

BCU is my first choice (I think) not the most convenient places with the school being on the other side of Brum to me but placement wise it would be great.

My interview letter came in December!!! only a fourtnight after i send in my app which was on the 18th November. My interview was on a monday morning @ the royal shrewsbury hospital campus. And was realy nice as first interviews go!

And after recieving an ackowledgment from BCU i got my direct 'U' from them on the 8th Feb. They require a presentation based upon why you want to be a midwife, which lasts for around 3 mins....then you will get a one to one 30 min interview later in the day. Also for those entering with access diploma's you will also need to sit an essay test in the morning. Fellow students who had interviews said it was all positive, however none of them were successfull. This said there were 8 access students from my college who initially applied for Midwifery and although these apps were to mainly Midlands Uni's none got places. However, two of us got nursing places further down the line and are very happy about that.xx

I'm an A-level student so no test for me, hurrah!

I remember doing my nursing interviews there and they were lovely. I did a full year there and I loved the uni, the course just wasnt for me.

Ooh I'm on about BCU won't be until after January, not Staffs!
