hi, i take my hat off to all you moms that do this course with young kids, i know i couldnt have done it, but that doesnt mean it cant be done. there a re a lot of moms with kids in my cohort sept 2011, who manage perfectly well.
a normal uni week is usually 9-4 or 1-8 depending on the rooms and tutors but you are only in uni for a few weeks out of the year. 2 - 4 week blocks at a time the rest is placement based and you start within the first 4-6 weeks. depending on placement, delivery suite, wards, community anc, shifts can be 7-3 or 1-9 or nights, 8.30- 5 clinics and community, long days 7am-9pm, weekends included usually 4-5 week blocks on placements. its better you know and be prepared than start and have to give up. good luck in your application and i hope you achieve what you aspire to do, x hope this helps.:)

no you need to apply for your bursary, income based and you can claim for childcare, but it has to be registered minders, nurserys, student loans awell,
this is a full on tough course, a new curriculum was launched this year and we are the first ones to do it, and it is HARD! harder than i ever imagined, assignments rely a lot on reading, as does the whole course, legislation research nice guidelines, nmc, midwives standards, research and evidence, it really does challenge the brain cells, and time, you need to be a good time manager. no one said it is easy, just worth it ! lots of work, mentally and physically,x
