Hi everyone. I have had 4 rejections and I’m waiting for my last choice to get back to me. Im feeling really down at the moment and wondering what to do.
Do I reapply again in September for midwifery 2013?
Do I (I’m currently doing an access course in health science) do another access course to gain more knowledge and more science for example an access to medicine?
Do I see if I can get onto for example, foundation in clinical sciences? Even though it is late? Should I try?

These different choices do not reflect how I feel about midwifery. I really do want to be a midwife but need options
    Thanks xxxx

    Hi hunnie,

Sorry to hear about your unsuccessful. But you still have one choice, so all is not lost.

With regard to your other choice's I would suggest contacting the uni's and asking for feedback, then at least you know what you need to work on.

    Fingers crossed for Stafford xx

No, they wont! Give it a go- the worst thing you can do here is nothing at all. Even though these Us are stomach-churningly disappointing, the unis will give you insight into how to make next years application fabulous! It may not even be quals- a very common reasoin is often your PS and thats normally fixable (with a wee bit of SMNET EDGE magic!!)
Get in touch....but remember, it aint over till the pleasantly plump lady sings!! XX

Definatly get in touch with the unis and get feedback. It's really impossible for you to plan you next step without finding out what went wrong. It does hurt finding out why you've been rejected, but not as much as applying for a second time and being immediately rejected again would. It may be something simple like a qualification that needs updating or your personal statement which can be reworked with the help of some SMNET magic like koalagary (;)) said x

But you do have one uni left, and it only takes one to want you! You might not need the feedback! Xxx

So sorry you have had those Us, but you still have one to hear from so keep the faith - it is hard not to fear the worst and maybe a good ideas to have a plan B so you have something positive to look forward to. UCAS will be open again before you know it so have a quick wallow and then back to it :) I would suggest getting as much detailed feedback and make an action plan to address each point they make. It's not pleasant to get people to tell you where you could be better but it means you can spend your time wisely and come back a better candidate next time. If you work for this year you have a chance to do care work to strengthen your application or any job alongside some volunteering (a chance to save up too!). It's not what we hope for but there is no need to be disheartened at not getting a place at your 1st attempt, many excellent midwives have multiple applications - it is so competitive. Good luck :)

Can't really add anything to what's already been said above, wise lot that they are, but just wanted to offer a hug, and say keep your chin up.

You're still in the game, and even IF you don't get a place this year, UCAS will be opening for new applications before we know it, and this next year could be an amazing opportunity to gain more experience, explore options and enjoy yourself before the whirlwind of uni. All is not lost if this isn't your year, however much it seems that way. CUGGLES!
