More catheter mishaps since I last posted!!
Doing one yesterday, and I couldn't find the urethra again. I couldn't even see it when my mentor told me where it was (she could see it) so I squirted instillagel in the general direction and it did indeed wink at me :p

Also, helping the anaesthetist prep for an epidural... dropped the saline water packet in the sterile field.. I was mortified!!

Currently on my break on a night shift on the postnatal ward. Had a mishap tonight with a BP machine... Was pretty dark in the bay as it was around 1am and all the lights off. Jug of water has been put on the bedside table as a new lady was due to be brought up. The BP machine was charging plugged in at the wall in the bit where new lady was going to be. I needed the machine for someone else so moved it without realising and the plug came out, knocking over the jug of water all over the bed and floor and table. Oh my god I was horrified. And it made such a noise that it woke all the babies up. Oops.
