From what date can we apply for the bursary once we have an offer?

I've just applied for the maintenance loan and a student bank account. The bursary page is saying that you can't apply just yet see this... http://www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/Students/986.aspx

Those who applied last year when did NHS up load the forms for you to complete and send them in? I'm eagerly waiting to complete it! :D

Not sure about when the forms will go live, but you need a bursary number first, which you get from the bursary people once your uni have told them you have an offer. So mainly depends on your uni rather than the NHS.

I'm going to Notts uni in September and on their website it says this:

The Department of Health has indicated that a new package of financial support will take effect from September 2012 and only apply to students who begin training on or after this date. Students will receive a small non-means tested grant of £1,000, a means tested bursary of up to £4,395 and a reduced rate non-means tested loan of up to £2,324. Different rates of means tested bursary and loan will apply according to where a student lives or studies.

I think this is why we can't apply yet because they are probably sorting out the new paperwork?? (pure guess though, sorry!)

That's right, you'll need a bursary number from the uni so you can send your application, but I think you might be able to get the forms April/May time? Not sure. It's as well to look at them even before you get your number as they are mega and if you can get most done before you get your number, so much the better!

This might be a silly question, but if I've already had a student loan, do I have to 'login' under that ID? Thing is, it was for a degree finished 5 years ago, and I wasn't married so under a different name, but I'm guessing I'd need to still log in and ask for another do you reckon? (Eek...more debt please!)

I've been desperate to sort out my bursary since last year too! I phoned a while back and was told that there will be no forms to print out this year as it is going to be totally online applications. I cannot apply until the uni confirms my place to the bursary peeps (which they wont do yet- aaargh!). I should receive a letter from NHSB once this has been done telling me how to apply.
    Hope this helps.
