One of my cohort had a dad come to find her to tell her there was something funny going on in his wifes baby hole!!!!!!!!!

Such a way with words! She was fully and delivered a few minutes later!

I was told another good one by a miwife on placement the other day:

Midwife on delivery suite answers phone to a man asking where and when he should bring his daughter in for her appointment. She asks what the appointment is for and he replies she is overdue and coming in for her "scratch and sniff" at which point the midwife says do you mean her "stretch and sweep?"

I cracked up when she told me this and judt had visions of the docs doing a scratch and sniff to induce labour!

Had a woman once ask me for a 'brush' rather than a sweep.

When I was a student a midwife went on an ambulance transfer to Cornwall, got there without issue and ambulance were giving her a lift back - until they stopped to get petrol and ambulance driver put diesel in a petrol ambulance. She didn't get back till midnight and had left on the early shift!

Well obviously i'm not quite a student midwife yet but when i was in labour with my first baby i had my sister and partner as my birthing partners. My sisters face was a picture when the midwife asked if they were my "mum and dad"..... but not as much as the midwifes when i kindly explained that it would be a miracle, as my SISTER was only 5 years my senior!!!! :furious:

It was the same midwife who had already asked which of the two of us were in labour!!!!
