Im a final year Student Midwife at Brighton University, and I am on gap year. I have had some excellent experiences in midwifery so far and have an excellent support network of lecturers and tutors at my Uni.

Im passionate about midwifery, midwifery education, helping and supporting fellow students and wannabe's on the path to becomming a Midwife.

I have set this site up with the intention of providing you with a 'one stop shop' for all things midwifery. You will find an up to date news thread keeping you up to date with whats going on in the world of midwifery, a job section with all the latest jobs to help final year students and midwives seek employment and an educational resources section with midwifery videos & films, our own online dictionary/glossary that links to every page, a useful educational articles and links section, history section and our own book shop to help support and inform your learning. We also have a specific forum for personal statement advice with many examples of current and past students personal statements to learn from.

We also have great competitions (see announcements) with great prizes and also a monthly midwifery quiz to test your knowledge!

We have a shop where you can purchase educational documents like the SMNET Getting Familiar with Midwifery Workbook, the SMNET Midwifery Study Guide and the SMNET Birth Register & Guided Reflections. You can also peruse a myriad of sumptuous midwifery goodies like bags & hoodies!

You will also find debates and discussions on salient topics in midwifery aswell as a general chat thread where you can pop in for some light relief! We have an excellent staff team who are here to support you and the site.

I hope you enjoy using the site and any suggestions are always welcome.

We launched on the 30th October, 2007, and around a year later we had 4,000+ members! Two and a half years on we have whopping 10,500+ members! YAY!

Thanks for stopping by and I encourage you to get involved with the site and make use of its resources, particularly our student mentor scheme where you can bag yourself a buddy at your chosen Uni :)

Good luck with your applications, interviews and studies :)

    TP x
