    Dont know if anyone as read the Earths Children Series by Jean M Auel, but there is a lot of fact based herbalism involved in the (fictional) story as the main character is a stone age medicine woman- takes the author forever to research/write each book!
    But one thing that caugt my notice was the use of ergot to induce a miscarriage., and other plants to encourage contractions in labour, help produce breastmilk and so on.
    Very,very interesting.
    If only i wasn't the kiss of death to all things green......
