    Hi

I am just wondering if there is a running list of those successful for Hull 2012 yet?
I've had a search but not finding anything.. it's late, I am tired :)

YES MEEEEE! :D How are you finding the course so far? I'm so excited to start. Are you living in student accomodation at all? xx

    Hi!

Congrats on getting in - fab news :D

I am totally enjoying the course, it still feels so surreal to actually be doing what I have wanted to do for so long, and I feel so incredibly lucky too.

The 2011 intake became friends on Facebook as well as on here in order to get to know one another first, and also arranged a meal out before starting - it really helped everyone feel comfortable and not at all worried on our start date... I highly recommend the 2012 intake also do this as I think you'll all really benefit.
I will probably be joining the 2012 intake myself in Semester 2 2013 but more about that another time!

Re accommodation; I am Hull-born so I live here. In fact I live only a 20 minute walk away from campus (perfect!) I don't think any of my intake are student accomodation so I can't really give you any advice. Hopefully as the waiting time progresses, more of your year will find you on here and you may be lucky enough to share with someone you work alongside.
I do know all the nursing/midwifery students are usually placed together in accommodation and it's only a stones throw from campus.
    Where do you currently live?

Thank you are you too

That's great news, i'm glad that you are loving it so much. I cant wait to be in your shoes this time next year... :D

Yeah that's a great idea, thanks for the tip. Are you split into several groups? Let me know if you'll end up joining me during 2013 so you know someone beforehand.

That's good then. I've actually heard (not sure if it's a myth though) that there isn't many student nurses or midwives that go into student accomodation but i need to unless i am willing to commute 180 miles round trip every day (I live near Derby). I'm hoping to stay in either Taylor Court or the student houses but edging towards Taylor Court so far.

Are you usually in 9-4 most days?

    xx

I can't honestly say whether it's a myth or not regards nhs students seeking accommodation. Many I know either live with their own families in Hull, surrounding areas and over the Humber on the Southbank. I do know there is housing available though and I am sure some will accept it!

I think your best bet will be to contact Sheila Wright (FHSC admissions lady) and ask her advice.
Taylor Court sounds ideal but there will be fierce competition for those flats so seek advice ASAP!

At the moment the timetable isn't so bad. We're currently in most days from 9.15 - 15.05 (approx) but there are "directed study" sessions, sometimes longer breaks in a full day and the timetable is always subject to change. Also, we've got a 4 week stint in Uni before a 4 week placement commencing 24th Oct so it's starting to get really exciting now  Well worth waiting such a long time for the course to commence!! x

I will email her now. Thank you so much for your help, it is much appreciated.

The timetable seems really good. I really hope you enjoy your placements, you'll have to let me know how you're getting on with it.

    Thanks!

I know there are at least 2 more 2012 ladies on here, perhaps they're saving up their excitement for later!

Just been reading some of the application threads and I am so glad I'm not going through that again.
