I've seen that happen - it's quite eerie..

it was one of those days where you are in handover for the start of the shift, and they come on and ask a midwife to come take over in room 3 sooner rather than later because the woman is pushing. I went down to take over from a midwife who'd been in my student cohort, said hi to the woman and her husband, and as she pushed the sac appeared at the introitus just like in the photos. My friend picked up an amnihook to rupture the membranes but I motioned her to wait, the sac grew bigger - it looked kind of like a balloon blowing up, then ruptured in a gush with the head following quite smoothly

Had that happen once after an hour (yes ONE HOUR) they still hadn't ruptured so I ended up tearing them with my hands to get them to rupture - ended up transferring for no progress (It was a deep transverse arrest) consultant obstetrician ended up coming in and asking what on earth it was hanging out of her vagina
