I totally agree here RG. I sometimes find the weight of the responsibility terribly overbearing & it's not as if I've really got any reason to worry. It's just that an ill advised remark or something could have huge consequences.

Have only just noticed this, it's utterly shocking that people can go this low :(

I am a member of a parenting site and one woman had us all convinced that her previous son died of cot death, then when I was pregnant with my youngest (she's 2 now), she gave birth at 28 weeks to twins to which they both died. It was so upsetting to read and came as a huge shock when we were told by admin it was all lies :(

    It's disgusting :(

Sometimes it's kind of obvious when there's a troll, sometimes we have an instinct about people, sometimes our lovely members use the report post function if they're a bit suspicious. We've had our fair share, but I think we're pretty good at dealing with em!

The parenting site i was a member of also had a troll in my wee group....tbh, when it was discovered, i was almost as shocked by the vitriol expressed by some of the other users as i was of the trollers action!! These things happen....its a bit like this generations version of the kids that used to make fake calls to childline and so on......very weird! Nice to know we're being well looked after here though.

This is shocking. :-/ and disturbing. What must someone feel like to do that in the first place. I stayed at a friends who's at uni and there was a shop that sold life size worryiny realistic dolls from ones that look preterm to about 1ish. Not sure who'd want one they are creepy. Apparently a woman bought a doll like those in the shop and dressed it up and put photos online. Must admit i'm surprised the shops in business. It's on the edge of the centre of a rather nice city.

Anyways so a troll's someone who gets an account on a site just to harass and bully others, even though they don't know them?
What of people like the lady who pretended to be pregant/makes up fake stuff. Is she a troll? because she didn't bully people but she did some horrible things?

    Oh I don't get all the net-speak. :-/

Trolls are basically there to just provoke a reaction from someone - whether by deceiving someone, or saying something really shocking. They just do it to get a reaction and the best thing to do is ignore them.

As my friends and I say: Don't Feed The Trolls!

:annoyed: OMG I know the hospital featured in the article!!

So sad that people using sites that are there to help people esp SANDS to bully or upset people. What sort of world do we live in???

I have seen a bit of this on FB and they are not so good at dealing with it all the time. Nice to know that is not the case here. :-D
