    for our oral care we have a set of dentures covered in a skin which is supposed to look like a head, its just pink skin stretched over with no other features or lips, it really is like something out of a horror movie!!

    Our uni you are not allowed to do BM's til you qualify - crazy! Something to do with an insulin error due to an inaccurate BM reading when a patients finger had OJ on it. Well yeah, teach us to clean the finger first doh! I have done my own BM's for years and I got innaccurate reads with dirty fingers when I first started but of course as soon as I was told that basic measure I never had a problem.

    Are you sure Dekra? We were told we can do them in 3rd year?

    BM's aren't in the skills list as far as I can see and I'm just going with what I have been told. Maybe it's trust specific so A&A hossies have a different set of rules from GG&C?

    Also another reason I think not being able to do it is 2/3rd year we are allowed to calculate an appropriate insulin dose based on a reading taken by the patient - crazy? Or yet more inaccurate info on what we can/can't do?
