I would recommend signing up for updates on the nhs jobs website and you will get an email if any jobs come up. They don't come up often and loads of people apply for them, so I'm not gonna lie and say its easy to get a job as 1.
I got my job after the 2nd time applying for it, feedback from the 1st interview was I didn't have any relevant experience so I got experience volunteering as a breastfeeding supporter but any kind of care experience is great. Lots of the other maternity care assistants I work with were previously health care assistants.
At interview make sure you really know the role of a MSW/MCA as they will ask you that. The RCM website gives an indepth description of what they do, so its worth a look.
Good luck, I hope you find a post as 1 :) xx

Hi little bells. I have just appied for a MSW job @ my local trust. It closes tomorrow and i am super nervous! If i am lucky enough to get it i will stay as a MSW and not bother doing access and then go through the emotional trauma of applying to uni.

I saw it on the nhs job website and i applied...... Good luck finding something hun

What qualifications are needed for this? Surely you can't just turn up, or are you trained as you work? x:)
