Thought it might be useful to provide a link to the official Midwifery 2020 website.

This site is a really good place to gain information and resources about the future of midwifery and would be good for any potential student midwives looking to apply for midwifery to help gain some insight into current midwifery issues and developments.

I have been looking at this over the past few weeks and it has really developed my knowledge on the changing role of the midwife. I hope it still goes ahead or David Cameron will be in my bad books once and for all!! xx

What initiative is in place inScotland though?? I read on the 2012 site the blurb about the disbandment of the Scot Steering Group and the why behind it, but anyone got any info on whats happening in its place up here?
I am doing my level best to research midwifery news in Scotland and have lots I can use should (WHEN!!) I gain interview places.....
But if anyone has pointers on this one Id be obliged!!

I think Midwifery 2020 was a big help in getting a place offered in my case. I printed the report and read it and when I mentioned it during my interview the interviewers were very happy :) It is a very interesting read actually :)

I read the executive report (covers all the sections and is way shorter) before my southampton interview and it really helped me to get my point across as well as helping my understanding of how the role of a midwife is changing. Would definitely recommend reading it!

Wow, this is a great resource. Thanks for posting it. Will be reading this as and when and will probably try to mention it (somewhere) in my personal statement. :)

Ditto, the last question I got asked was "what have you been reading about midwifery lately" and I went into full detail about the report and why I thought it was interesting. After I finished the interviewer enthused how good the report was and that not many ppl had read it or mentioned that they had at interview, I think it may have been a big part in getting my offer.
I liked reading the report, it wasnt all jargon and was very easy to understand :)

This report has some really good info. It's given me some ideas for my final project in the Access Course I'm doing.
    :)
