    SOAP is a good who to call mneumonic.

    Senior Midwife
    Obstetrician
    Anaesthest
    Paediatrician (or Porter if its a PPH)

    CROCITis a good PPH one
    Call for help
    Rub up a contraction
    Oxytocic
    IV access
    Tthrombin, trauma, tone, tissue.

    has anyone got the 1st/2nd/3rd edition of essential midirs? there is a mnemonic in there for the advantages of breastfeeding - i saw it once when paging through it and didnt get to take note?

    For Fetal Skull

    Fred - frontal bone
    Always - anterior fontanelle (bregma)
    Carries - coronal suture
    People's - parietal bones
    Suitcases - sagital suture
    Like - lambda (posterior fontanelle)
    Ornaments - occipital bone

    One for midwives and student midwives:
    T - take off shoes
    I - intake of alcoholic beverage
    R - recline onto bed/sofa/chair/floor etc.
    E - exhale deeply
    D - doze off
