    I've had quite a few chose oral over the IM (which the trust recommends) and had one decline completely (and another who is planning to decline unless traumatic birth)

    I do remember reading somewhere (and I can't remember where) that the anal secretions (not poo the mucousy stuff) is very rich in vitamin K and that a lot of the low levels of vit K in babies is due to us keeping things sterile and preventing them from swallowing a dose naturally on the way out

    the oral and IM version we use are the same, I do believe they used to be a slightly different make up (the IM was vegetarian and the oral had some bovine ingrediants in)

    The trust where I had my children (and did much of my training) did oral vit K for SVDs at term if they didn't go into SCBU
