hello, im very new here signed up about a week ago!
i am due to start my access course on thursday this week and when scrolling the internet for more info on midwifery i found this site and havent been off it since!

i am a married mum of one (boy aged 2) and another on the way (4 months preg.) midwifery has always been at the back of my mind as a career id love , but ive never quite been confident enough to do anything about it! im not fulfilled in my current job (letting agent) and recently thought if i dont do this now, i probably never will! so the plan is to do the access course over the next year, have my 2nd child in august and **fingers crossed** do uni from next sept. i do have care experience and some good gcses/a levels but i know this isnt enough to just simply 'go to uni' next september. i know its going to be probably the hardest thing i'll ever do but at the same time i see that it'll be the most enjoyable and rewarding too.

so thats me, i'll go back to lurking around the forum now gathering up all the advice and knowledge i can! :)

Hi and welcome! I too am new on here today!! I have a beautiful little boy who is nearly 15 months old. I am looking to start my Access course in September and am already chomping on the bit to get started. The big twist in my story is that we are looking to have baby no 2 by the time I finish my Access course, so that I can take a yr off then fingers crossed, start my Degree in 2014. Gosh, it sounds so long away! I love this site though and am really glad that I have stumbled upon it...beats looking on ebay all the time :)I'm nervous about having children and doing my degree as my previous degrees (yes, I have two...but I am 34 ;)) have been undertaken with no children. However, seems I'm not alone so hope that i can draw (and give!) some support from this site :)
