    Hi guys,

I know this isn't the most comfortable topic, so please don't feel like you have to read.

My dissertation is on care following diagnosis of intrauterine death. I'm focusing on all aspects of this (word count allowing) but am especially interested in the possibility of opting for a home birth in this situation. Of course I am aware of the risks, if induction was needed these risks are higher - but is it possible? Have you heard of it? Are there any links to information out there?
I have seen some stories of home birth after diagnosis of fetal abnormality but can't find anything on stillbirth.

Would your hospital facilitate this? Would be grateful for any help

Not what you're looking for but I'm pretty sure I remember iolaus did a catch of the week where the fetes was not expected to live more than a few mins/hours after birth and they chose to have him at home and let him die at home with them there cuddling him after he was born. I may be wrong though.

I haven't heard anything as you say about stillbirth though

I'll have to have a look and see if I can find some of the old birth stories i've read about women in this sort of circumstance.
It sounds like a very emotive topic and something i'd be interested to learn more about so if you find anything that you're willing to share i'd like to read it.
I'll look for those websites after i've sorted out the kids tea ;) x

I think the risks with DIC increase 2 weeks after fetal death

I did do a COTW where the baby was expected to die, I think she lived for about a week in the end

I've known people take home a stillborn baby after a hospital birth
