Emz, you said it! Sounds like you have loads to keep you busy. My friend who I refer to as my wee sis is due December, I'm an only child so closest I'll get to being an auntie. Between that little one, SMNET bubbas and the auxiliary job that I will of course get (ooh look my PMA is back, must just have needed ma girls :D) I'm really hoping to keep busy, which shouldn't be too hard with 2 boisterous boys!x

salz of course, all are welcome and yup, that's why I started this thread. Should just have called it Scottish SMNETters blether thread!lol xxx

Ah, I only just noticed this thread! Thanks for starting it Binky :)

Soooo for next year, I am applying to Napier - only Napier - talk about putting all your eggs in one basket! lol

My plans for this year are to do Higher Human Biology and Communication 4 part-time at college - if they ever decide to get in touch with me about it! And I am currently waiting on my Disclosure and Occy Health forms coming through so that I can start my voluntary work :)

2012 is gonna be our year ladies! We'll knock 'em dead :boxing:

Yeah I'm doing ok thanks Binky.
Moved into a new place now, away from my ex. Feeling very lonely and down at times, but also equally positive and happy at other times :)
Just gonna focus on my future career, and hope that someday I find another man. xx

    Hi everyone

I am also only able to apply to napier next year.:( Dont really know where to start. Didnt have enough care experience but have had no luck getting auxillary jobs. Volunteering for home start. Does any one know of any trusts that let you volunteer on the maternity wards. Stirling doesn't. meeting with some independent midwives next week to get a better idea of working as an independant midwife. I am not sure about further study as have a degree already and would rather use my time to get experience. will need to check with Napier though as degree 20 years old!!
Going to work on PS as didnt get as far as interview- feedback from stirling was 10/20 for statement- not good! Also said I didnt show as much of an understanding of the role of a midwife or care as those offered interview. So got alot to work on!
This is what I really want to do so have to find a way to convince Napier that they really want me!!!

Sounds like you have it all covered student2b :) What type of voluntary?x

Should have mentioned where I'll be applying, Napier are by far my first choice and maybe my only, but I'll no doubt cave and add UWS even though I've had an awful experience with them this year. Currently deciding whether to pursue a complaint. They're closer than Napier but I'd manage the travel to Napier somehow if given the chance (haven't researched fully what it might involve re placement, petrol costs etc, scared it's not doable...)

Dewa I'm glad things are on the up. I agree a cat/a dog/a new hobby could be an idea xxx

Hey hun, as Wozza said you can get volunteer work at the RIE. I'm just waiting on my application going through for the voluntary work on the postnatal ward.

I'm also going to try and get someone on here to help me with my PS for next year! Anything I can possibly think of to help me get there next year :)
