    Hi,
I am at the crying stage. I found out yesterday that I am not allowed a student loan as I have had one for a previous degree. Pudge if you are right I will e so so happy but I don't think I can get a second loan? Also if you are doing a degree in midwifery I thought the bursary wasn't means tested? but set at £4,600.
If you know that someone had had a second loan in my situation I would love to hear about it,
    Thank you x

    From their website...

However, new students taking courses in medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, architecture, social work and undergraduate Initial Teacher Training (ITT) will continue to be eligible for loans for living costs, though not fee loan or Maintenance Grant/ Special Support Grant, even if they already hold an equivalent or higher level qualification. Students eligible for a means-tested NHS bursary will continue to be eligible for a reduced rate loan whether or not they already hold an equivalent or higher level qualification.

This is the very point of this thread hun, you ARE entitled. It makes me so mad that they are putting people through this.

Call them up and tell them to check it. If they say no again, tell them to check again. Stay calm and be confident that you are right.

Tell them that because the bursary you are applying for is Means Tested you are entitled to the Maintenance loan, regardless of any previous study.

Don't worry, don't get upset - YOU ARE entitled to this hun.

Big love and let us know how you get on.

ETA: The bursary for the Midwifery degree is means tested. (I think its the diploma that isn't - but I could be worng there)

    I'm confuddled.com
I'm at the online bit with the table of money and the selecting either 'I want to apply for the level of finance shown here' OR 'I want my household income to be assessed'

This is my situation: I've already had a loan for a previous degree. It's just me, no benefits, no property, no money secretly stashed away, no dependants apart from my beautiful cat and I'm working part time at the moment.

    Thanks for the help x

just apply for the level shown there.

The loan for us isn't income assessed :)
