    Hiya,
Thanks for the advice, I did try the calculator last night and it said I was entitled to £2000ish so I'm just going to send that off now... does anyone know anything about the maintanence grant...or is that really just for first time students??

    xx

I don't think we're entitled to the maintenance grant, as we're NHS students, so we get the bursary+grant :)

    Ah....worth a try tho!! ;)

Apparently we might be entitled to Adult Learners Grant/Adult Dependancy Grant or Childcare Grant too... I am simply gonna try my luck with everything I can find, they can only say no after all!! :D

You wont be entitled to anything else other than the reduced rate maintenance loan

Ok thanks for that...I anything is worth a try!

Anyway I was just wondering... I've sent my application for the loan off today, and online it said i was entitled to £0 even tho the calculator stated otherwise, but after reading all of these I'm not concerned about that... what I am wondering is should I be applying for the NHS bursury now or will I get that sort of info from Uni once I formally accept the offer and apply once my place is finalised??

You cant do anything about the bursary until after you have officially accepted your place, and they notify the bursary people who then send you a reference number...which will likely be some time towards the summer...you could however download the forms (if they are available yet) and get them ready together with all the ID you will need so that you can get it all sent off pretty sharpish. The sooner you get it sent off the better as they are processed in date of receipt order.

I was wondering about that too, thanks Hoping.

For my loan application it says I had to provide evidence of the NHS bursary entitlement and need to send my passport too- does this have to be done before or after I accept my place? I don't remember having to send my passport the first time

Just tick that you dont have evidence.
you shouldnt have to send the passport if its a digital one...they can identify you from the number.

I have completed my forms, had to send my passport in as proof, have got that back in a few days turnaround. Now my profile has updated saying I am entitled to £2324.

    £766.92 on the 24th Sept, 7th January and £790.16 22nd April.

Am pleased I filled all the forms in early, and ignored the original £0 entitlement :)
