More choice on line and if you have hot feet would suggest getting the proffesional ones. They have holes on the sides and you can usually only get them on line. If you have really big feet they can look a bit clumpy.

Buy baby buy!! From size 9 upwards can look a bit clumpy plus the proffesional ones are slimmer. The beach ones tend to be the chunkiest because even mine look chunk and I take a five whereas my professional ones look normal.

I have heard people saying that they find Doc Martins comfy but from what I can remember from being a student the first time round they weren't !!

I heard crocs were banned because they are rubber and generate static electricity which can affect machines!!
Is this just some crazy myth??
If so, you can get crocs that aern't holey and are really comfy! My sister has pumps made by Crocs for her school shoes coz they are the only things that dont look hideous on her size 9 feet!

    Re: SHOES!!

Phew!!!! thought this may have been a thread about sm.net shoes!! That would be taking it too far!

Anyway I hate shoes! I have the most sensitive feet ever, I bought some really comfy looking dolly shoes for me interview and even wore them in around the house but as soon as I stepped out of the house in them blisters pop up everywhere!!

Flip flops however I love!! In the summer I go mad buying them in every colour possible.

Boots in the winter, trainers for the gym and thats as far as shoes go for me. Any ideas how to toughen feet up?

Aw, I have crocs professionals, size 7 , not allowed to wear them on placement any more. No students at my trust are, though the midwives are carrying on, despite them being outlawed.

I have a pair of these, Toffeln clogs. Very comfy! After long shifts my feet never hurt

Is there an unwritten rule about being a student midwife and having to wear ugly shoes?!

No, comfort is more important. Especially after 13.5 hours
