    We are delighted to announce that the first 2011-2012 dates for our Preparing for Interview course are now available for booking.

    Camden, London October 19th 2011

    University of Cardiff, November 11th 2011

    The day is a full day of learning, training and a chance to meet other's in the same boat as you! Also you get to meet SMNET staff, midwives and student midwives :)

    So far we have a 99% success rate - that means 99% of our delegates are now studying midwifery at degree level or are waiting to start their course :)

    The day includes;

    • A mock interview with an HR consultant and a Registered Midwife :: with same day feedback and personal development plan
    • A real literacy and real maths test with feedback
    • A real group interview with feedback
    • How to effectively prepare for your interview to get ahead of the competition
    • Understanding the role of the midwife
    • Understanding the pillars of the profession exploring NMC, NICE & RCM
    • Exploring basic midwifery skills
    • Viewing the latest and most popular midwifery books
    .......... and lots more!

    We will have lots of 'kit' for you to get hands on - so you can practice your LOA's and LOP's with our model baby and pelvis, fiddle with tourniquets, check out blood bottles, tap your first sphyg and give yourself a headache (we've all done it), take each others BP and lots more.

    Freebies! The folks at Elsevier provide us with the latest and most popular midwifery books for you to peruse. You may even be one of the lucky ones who gets to take a book home for free or a FREE SMNET Uni Bag! All those attending will receive a 30 day free trial of 'Skills for Midwifery Practice' Johnson and Taylor (Evolve Edition, 2010). You will also go home with the latest copy of Essentially MIDIRS. Lots of great freebies!

    Places are limited, your place is secured once you have completed the booking form and paid the course fee of £89.00. Places can be refunded 8 weeks in advance of the course start date if you chose not to attend your interview or have not secured an interview.

    We look forward to meeting you and helping you to fulfil your dream of becoming a Midwife!

    Hi Lucyboe! Unfortunately, 25 Jan Preparing for Interview to Study Midwifery training course in Eastbourne is fully booked and unfortunately we do not have any further courses being held before 13th Feb. However, all is not lost my lovely, you are able to undertake a 1-2-1 telephone 'Preparation for Interview' telephone consultation with Josie for either half an hour or one hour in duration. Drop Josie an email (josie@studentmidwife.net) and tell her that Jules informed you to make contact re 1-2-1 and she will inform you further. I really hope this helps my chicken!
