I think for me, time spent depends on how interested I am and how much time I actually have- which varies, I have allocated one day (which I dont have this week due to school hols- grrr!!) to doing Access work, my english level 2 units I did in a few hours, and then so far I have spent about an hour on the asess but Im only about a quater way through.
Hoping to get it done asap as its boring me crazy!!!:ban:
But I dont thinkI will get much chance as we have to do a presentation for my uni course which needs preapring over next two weeks too!
    :help: xx

    Hi Hunnie:)

    Sounds like your doing fab.

I'm on unit 4 assessment this week. I think I started my maths work on 12th January.
I've give myself the deadline date of 29th February to complete all the units - I'm optimistic lol!
I really don't enjoy maths so have to be strict with myself and just want to get it done.

I work part time, so I give myself 3 days a week to do access work, I treat it like I'm actually going college.
So from 9am till 5pm, I'm working on access, personal statement or reading.

Each unit is different, they have different amount of questions and some things come easier than others. I'm trying to get through the work and understand it at the same time. I surprised myself and know more than I thought. My boyfriend is brill at maths and has given me some tutiton too.
I was sick for nearly two weeks with a throat infection too, so didn't do as much as usual.

How much time do you have for the course?

    xx

Although I would love to I just dont think it is going to be feesible from both a cost and time point of view- the weekends are the only time I get with my girls and then only sundays really as im at uni doing my other course on saturdays, its a shame none of them are held up north as it would make things a little easier tbh.
This is the same reason I had looked at the denise teirney home learning course instead of the taughht sessions- I would absolutely LOVE to do the taught sessions but I just cannot make it fit!
I am deffo thinking of doing the home learning course though, possibly in July, Aug, Sept as I'm of uni during these months for the summer!
On another note Ive just got my first copy of essentially midrs, so looking forward to getting started with reading that too!!

Sorry to be dumb! how do you decide when doing your Learning plan how much time to allocate? Or is it not too much of a big deal?

also with the 1st assignment about why DLC what content did you include? Is it marked?

    Hi hun,
No, it isn't marked. Well not in the sense that you gain any credits from it anyway!
I just discuessed why I had chosen the DLC course over a college course and what had brought me to needing to do an access course etc. If you look through the handbook , I think it is in there anyway, I know I have read it somewhere!! it gives you a break down of how many credits to work through per week, based on the time frame you aim to have to complete, you just work it out from that. I don't feel in too much of a rush so I am taking my time, and just plan to do a credit a week (it will take me over a year) I've done it like this as Im doing another course at uni too and what with that and work, kids, etc etc, I didnt want to put myself under too much pressure- that said I wasnt planning on finishing my english level two for another few weeks and have completed it tonight!

Feel really down tonight. I posted my IT off yesterday and have today been given the password for communications.

My tutor said when she has finished marking all the work and checked I hit the criteria for each level then I will get a new tutor assigned and if I have to resubmit I will be given hints of where I went wrong.

That sounds like I have failed on something else why else would she say that? I asked and she just said she'd let me know when she saw the IT and to start on comms which is far more indepth than level 2 and requires a lot of work.

So I guess that tells me I messed up. If I can't even do level 2 then what am I doing here? :(

    Hi sweet,

Try not to worry. I'm sure she just said that to cover her own back. She is more than likely just informing you what will happen should that be the case.

Crack on with comms and wait and see. I'm sure you be fine

    xx
