I have booked to go to Tanzania for a 2 week elective placement through work the world in November and I just wonder if anyone has any advice about a placement abroad? Has anyone been to Tanzania before on an elective? Anything you would advice to definitely take with me when I go out there? Really looking forward to it but nervous too! :)

I've been really lucky and won a competition for my elective, i'm thinking Tanzania too! I won't be going until next year, so still got time to make the decision

Are there any other places people would suggest?

We went to Sri Lanka and the country was amazing but the placement....erm...not so much!

I know Work the World have just started offering Peru and that's where I'd go if I ever got the chance to do it again!

I was told by Work the World that Nepal and Sri Lanka placements were not great as there is not so much opportunity to get hands on experience.

I've decided to go to Tanzania, although it's not for a while but I am very excited!
