can I still claim tax credits as normal? (my partner works fulltime). will I have to declare my student grants etc.? will I claim my childcare through tax credits? so will i be classed as kind of working fulltime in their eyes as far as childcare etc. is concerned? its soooo confusing...

You can claim some form of tax credits, but not for child care as you both need to be working 15 hours, and the degree isn't classed as employment...

    Hi

You dont have to declare your student income to tax credits as its non-taxable. You may be able to claim childcare through the student bursary - not sure how the impending changes are going to affect this but that is what happens at the mo x

I am starting level 3 access and I was told that if you don't already hold a level 2 or level 3 qualification (i can't rememebrt which one) fees are free. So maybe contact college and ask them

That's interesting for me too as looking into doing access course too (if we can afford it) if fees are free to that would be a bonus! I will speak to my college too! Thank you x
