Urgh........Im mindful that this doctor might be trying to avoid 'backstreet abortion' scenarios for women under severe pressure to have the 'right' sex baby, for whatever reason.......she didnt seem totally callous about it- the look on her face at the end, when she asked if the woman has considered all her options....
Doesnt excuse this though. It is plainly and horribly wrong.

I didn't get the impression that the doctor was trying to avoid a back street abortion scenario, she relayed the info on the phone (to her team) that the reasons were 'social', despite the women plainly saying it was because it was the wrong gender. It felt routine.

You know what I half like about this is has now come out in the UK, it makes people realise that this doesn't just happen in places like India and China. (my self included) Some people are so quick so moan about these countries and the women who have sex selected abortions over there...it's good (iykwim) for people to see that it's nothing to do with race, it's a decision that any women can make no matter she is from and that doctors no matter where they are from either are still willing (disgustingly) to carry them out.
    (hope this makes sense)

I find it sad that the life of a baby is seemingly so cheap for some people. Sad, very sad.
