though I have had a couple of posts on here, I haven't actually introduced myself.

so...hello everyone. I am currently waiting a year before I go and do an Access to Midwifery course. I was planning on doing Biology A level which is a 2 year course but the lady at college advised the access course for me. In the mean time I am trying to get some experience. I have started training with Banardo's as a breast feeding peer support worker, and will start training for homestart in April. I have today had an interview to try and get work experience shadowing a midwife so fingers crossed I get that I just need to wait and see. I have also signed up to do a course with the OU for Diabetes which starts in May and waiting to hear back from NCT who apparently would love to have me.

Other than that, I have 4 kids (6 including my husbands from a previous relationship) 5 of whom live with us. They range from 2 to 14, and include a set of 8 year old twins. I have been out of work for a while raising my youngest, but feel that when he goes back to school is time for me to go back to college! I have no previous experience in the field, but have spent most of my working life managing shops. I enjoy the stress and chaos but a shop is not for me!

    So like I said...hello! :)

Hi! Have an official :welcome: then. So are you planning to apply for 2014 entry then? Sounds great experience, if you're bored there are some online courses you could do, I've did a few with the BMJ which are good and there's an entonox one around somewhere. You'll certainly have enough to keep you busy til you start access! Blimey, my 8yo is hard work on his own lol x

Applied to 5 unis - U's from bradford and York :'( but interviews at Huddersfield, Teesside and Leeds :> YAY! I have 3 children aged 10, 8 and 7 and have wanted to be a midwife for 10 years so am really excited but very nervous. 1st interview is at hudds this Weds (my youngest's birthday).
