Default Meeting my SM.Net Student Mentor

Hi

I met my mentor Midwifemissy on Tuesday for a coffee and a tea!! We got on really well and chatted for ages about the course and also I got too ask lots of questions about Uni, uniforms, what shoes to wear etc etc.

The time flew by and I was surprised at how well we got on. I feel better about starting in Sept as I have had the opportunity to ask all my silly questions and I will have a friend when I start. It has really helped to put my mind at ease and helped me make some decisions about travel etc. I hope in the future our friendship will grow and that I may be of some support to MM one day.

By the way MM, I also went and chopped off all my hair so I now have a much shorter bob!!

I would really recommend that if you can pair up with a buddy that you take the opportunity because they are really helpful and they will look out for you.

LOL

Awww coffebean,

You are too kind, it was a pleasure to meet you, and I really enjoyed having someone to chat to about midwifery stuff, and whose eyes didn't glaze over after about 5 mins lol, and other stuff too of course.

I am sure we will have the chance to meet again before too long, and if you think of any other questions...silly (I am expert at these as I ask so many myself lol) or otherwise please just ask, and I will do my best to answer them.

Ooooh, you went and did it then, good for you girl, bet it looks really nice, wish I could get mine cut too, it is getting on my nerves now

Enjoy your evening of indulgence lol

MM xxx

Well, I think it should be said well done, to both of you.

Midwifemissy is a crazy chic, but down to earth and it's great you two got on... she's ace and it would be hard not to get on with her.

Thank you so much midwifemissy for being such a massive support here and helping us grow this network..... this is just one of those stories that depicts totally what this site is all about.

Coffeebean - it's ace to hear this story, really ace - when I think about what it was we were creating and then see it in action it really makes it worthwhile.. thanks guys (dolls)

Awww Rob, you will have me blushing ,

I am just lil ole me, and I do it as it is, and tell it like it is....nicely of course

I enjoy helping other people, and like to do what I can to help, it's nothing special in my eyes, it's just being a decent person. But, thanks so much for your lovely kind words, they mean a lot.

I really enjoyed meeting coffeebean, she is a lovely lady, and anything I can do to help ease the stress and nerves before and after starting uni I am only too happy to do. I remember only too well how nerve wracking it is.

I think the buddy/mentor scheme is a brilliant idea, and I am sure it will continue to grow and be a huge success. If the scheme hadn't been put in place, then the success wouldn't be possible, so thanks to you and TallPoppy for making it possible.
