Default Sharing . .. .

My Mum is something of a Drama Queen. Imagine her dramaticness when we asked her to be there for the birth of our baby! After the initial excitement, we explained that we wanted things very calm. In all she was amazing and we were so glad she was able to share it with us. The reason for the thread however . . .Whilst waiting for something (anything!) to happen, my husband said he was hungry. Well my Mum got out this bag and I am not kiddin you, it had everything in it, crosswrod books, Iced gems, Lucozade, 6 pack of Ribena, polo mints, Bounty Bars, Crisps, chocolate digstives, the list is endless. At the time I was telling her to hide it away, what on earth would people think, we wouldnt possibly be there that much longer to have the time to eat any of it etc etc etc
Now we laugh and laugh about it . . . There I was, everythin out and I was worried about some iced gems!!
I just wondered if you had a funny story or something which reminds you about the birth of your child or whilst you were attending a birth of one of your "ladies" . . . .

LOL!!!! HILARIOUS!!! 'everything out and worried about iced gems'.... too funny... had a lovely greek couple once who in early labour askd if it was ok to eat, we encourage light snacks for energy so I told them this, 'lots of energy for later' etc etc.

Left the room.

Came back 5 mins later and a banquet, in tupperware had magically appeared. Never seen anything like it.... there was enough to feed the ward!

had a couple in for IOL yesterday, they had big bag of snacks and a big bag of games. Trivial Pursuit lasted 3 hours, i joined whenever i went to listen in to baby or do obs, then out came the scrabble, and then the connect 4. Porr woman, didnt progress very far and was still there today as far as i know. Maybe OH went home for some more games??!! In the morning we were having a chat and they were obviously impressed with the hospital and asked if anyone names their boy after *** or ****** as it is named. When I replied no they seemed quite suprised. 12 hours later when i went back and the novelty of the 4 walls and IOL process had worn off, i asked them if they were still planning on calling the baby *** or ******, to which im sure you can guess their reply!
