Default Met my mentee today

Hi,

I am a mentor for Jo. Today we met up for the first time at Uni for a coffee and a good chat about starting the course. I was able to give her a tour of the campus and some info on how the course is run.

We got on really well, she is lovely and it was a pleasure to spend time with her. I hope I can continue to offer help and advice over the next few years.

Maybe I will end up being her mentor on placement one day...lol (that seems such a long way off!).

Thanks Jo for a great morning - (and yes, the library fine is now paid in full!).
KS

I really appreciated MM being my mentor. It means that I can ask her all stupid questions I want and that when I finally start I will be nervous but prepared because of her!!

Mentors are great and when I start I'd be more than happy to mentor someone else as I know how daunting it can all be.

From a mentor's point of view, I find it helps me too, I have to keep my wits about me, and keep in mind just how daunting starting uni actually is. (as if I could ever forget) I try to think of those little details that could be helpful, you know, the things you wished you'd known before you start?

I have also made a great friend in Coffeebean through the mentor scheme, so that has to be the biggest benefit for me.

MM. xx
