Couples 25% off Council Tax

Hi,

I have recently found out students can get a discount on their council tax. If you are a student and your partner works you are entitled to 25% reduction

. I have just recently claimed this and also I had it back dated!! so the rest of the year I have little to pay now. I think if you don't have a partner then it is more off but i'm not too sure.

you'll need to wait until you enrol at uni in your first week to get the form for this, uni will give you a number to quote to the council.

OH Yeh lol!!
I was ok as I done a foundation year at my uni so it went on last year, oops lol but its something to look forward to gaining when everyone starts. It all counts when your a student lol!!

If you live alone, then you get a full discount on your council tax.

At my uni we were given a letter to give to the local council to prove we were on the course.

I got this discount too when I did my access course as it was classed as full time - worth checking up on!
